We are excited to showcase one of our latest projects abating asbestos from and demolishing the former South Portland Middle School making room for the new facilities.
Our team has worked tirelessly to ensure the safe removal of asbestos and the proper demolition of the former South Portland Middle School.
The University of Maine Orono has begun the redevelopment project of the campus’s iconic buildings, Coburn and Holmes, into a 95-room boutique hotel and a bistro cafe. The two buildings at the heart of the University were originally built in the late 1800s for student housing, but have not been operational for the last 15 years.
Since March 2022, PBC Environmental (PBCE), demolition and environmental abatement contractor and consultancy out of Kittery Maine, has successfully taken down the ambulatory wing, which included the former hospital’s emergency building. To do so, that section needed to be surgically separated from the 1940’s historic structure remaining for redevelopment. The removal generated 480 tons of metal and 3,668 cubic yards
